GARDENER’S BREW
To toil in a garden - such an arduous pleasure, with a climate like ours where we barely can measure the downfall of raindrops, feeble flowers, and of this gardener too;
Memories of childhood when gardening was easy, we’re helping Mummy - that lemonade was so squeezy - to till and to weed and pick all the veg; we were her green-fingered crew.
Since, we’ve made our fortune, now we are retired, slip back through the ages, recall times we admired, glow with the effort, aubergine colour, then retire - hurt - for a much stronger brew !

Ha! Love your words and so apt at this time of year, when eveyone seems to have grown green fingers. You know Alan, if ever I am feeling down I think I should just come read you, as your words always make a smile appear on my face.
